My Family Photos…By Jonelle
Making the time to have your family photographed is easily 'put down the list' when there is so much going on in the year - time slips by so quickly... I know. I made all the excuses too!! AND I HAVE A PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS - I literally have NO EXCUSES.. But I certainly made them.. I want to lose weight, nothing to wear, hair’s not done… too busy, can’t find the time between the sports, afterschool activities … you name it, my husband and I have said it.
Finally, I put my foot down.
We booked a time.
We said ‘no more excuses’.
We are doing this... No matter what!
We our family photoshoot way back in winter 2020 but I am so grateful I have updated the family photos as our last family shoot was when Asha was 1! (almost 4 years ago - you can check out the post here).
Asha is almost 6 and still LOVES drawing every day. We brought along a very special sewing box from her late great-grandmother which she uses for all her 'Artist Tools' (she calls them )
Nate is now 9 - and still loves his Bakugan. I can't believe how grown up he is here... my boy is growing so quickly!
I have to be honest - organising a time, choosing the clothes, and getting everyone to the studio (happy) was one of the more stressful things i've done, so I totally get when clients tell me 'it's just too hard right now, we will do it next year, or in 6 months...' I get it because that WAS ME.. and I Photograph families every. single. day.
I needed to make time for MY FAMILY
I am so thankful I have these memories to keep forever of my Ashy and Nate from this age in their lives. I’m sure Mike and I will look back at these photos and say ‘how young and great we looked then’ too… just like we do with all our photos from the past!
I proud my kids have these memories to look back at.
Our family at this time in our lives - as they are right now... to keep in this moment forever.
